last month i watched this movie, and this movie is actually the inspiration for me to start this blog, and begin documenting and posting movies i’m watching that day. like julie, “i never finish anything”. this blog also allows me to pour my thoughts into words (even though i’m really bad at it, both in my mother language or in english. i’m trying to improve through writing here. hopefully i’ll become better, bear with me) and motivates me to watch more and let me to look back.
now about the movie itself.
- the setting, the interior design is so attractive. especially the Julia storyline. another europian setting (see the trend, yesterday Italy now French)
- the food!!! yuuum, my sister and i googled french restaurant to go next time we have time to go to ‘fancy lunch’, as we saw the movie.
- how to cook!! how can she manage to cook 500+ recipes in a year?
- Merly Streep is such an amazing actress. no wonder she has so much academy award nomination. she’s so adorable as Julia Child.
- both couple interactions are so lovely, they have their own charm.
- from this movie i realized how much i love Stanley Tucci acting and the characters he plays on movies i watched of him. this, devil wears prada, hunger games. cant wait for him on beauty and the beast. i have not yet watched his performance on The Lovely Bones, the movie kind of creeps me up, may be later. to watch list!
overall the movie is very lovely and light hearted. amazing acting, relatable story yeah. and the fact that it is based on true story <3
